The September IG Another Packed Issue

The September 2017 issue of International Gymnast will be another packed issue. The P&G Championships in Anaheim, Calif., will be the cover story, and there will likely be two new all-around champions. The last four U.S. titles were won by Simone Biles, who is taking the year off, and Sam Mikulak, who is recovering from a torn Achilles' tendon at the Winter Cup in February.

The issue also includes a preview of the 2017 Montreal World Championships, which will not include team competition. IG handicaps the field for the all-around and apparatus finals. Japan's Kohei Uchimura (pictured), meanwhile, will be going for his seventh consecutive world all-around title!

There also is an interesting interview with Scott Hann, coach of Max Whitlock and Brinn Bevan, both of whom made the British team to the 2016 Rio Olympics. We also caught up with former Chinese gymnast Lu Li, who scored a 10.0 to win the uneven bars gold at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Lu coaches at Black Hills Gymnastics in Lacey, Wash.

There is plenty more in the issue, including an interview with French champion Zachari Hrimeche and a Stretching Out column titled "The Quirks of Post-Olympic Worlds."
